If you would like to limit your display of reagents and premixes to those that will work with a particular flow cytometry instrument, click to check Match to instrument. Then click Pick.
The Instrument pick list will appear, most likely in table view. If the list displays in tree view like this, click Tree. A small menu will appear. Click Restore table.
The table view offers an enormous amount of information. If you have already entered your instrument configurations, you will find them in the tree under Lab or Facility. If you have not yet entered your own instruments, you may use the Generic configurations we have entered to let you get a feel for how CytoGenie works. Click and drag the scroll bar to find the configuration you want. Click to highlight it. Preview the details. Click Pick.
Please do not buy any reagents you pick to work with generic configurations, since they will likely lead to misleading experiment results. To learn how to avoid the problem, click Enter your flow cytometry instrument.
Return to the Control panel and click to check the other options you want. When you get to Species, click the drop-down arrow.
A list of species will drop down. Click and drag the scroll bar to view the entire list. Click the species you want.
To Show antibodies reactive with mutiple species, click Add more species.
Click to check the species you want to target. Click Apply.
The Catalog window will now show the instrument configuration you picked. As you click the nodes to open the tree, the window will display only those reagents that fit the options you selected.
Favorites
One of the most powerful options on the Control panel is the ability to create and recall a list of your favorite Invitrogen reagents. Click Pick.
The Organize favorites tree will display. As you click and drag the scroll bar, click the + signs to open the nodes you want to view. Hold down the CTRL key and click to highlight the epitopes, color conjugates, or lot numbers you want to put on your Favorites list. Then go to the Favorite column and click to check the boxes of all those you've highlighted. When you finish picking your favorites, close the window.
On the Control panel, click to check Favorites only. Click Apply. When you finished telling CytoGenie which groups of reagents to include in the pick tree, click Done. At any time, ou can re-open the Control panel and change any of your options.
Fill your shopping cart
Click & drag the scroll bar to view the tree. Click the + signs to open the hierarchical branches of the tree. You may select a reagent at any level – epitope, color conjugate/handle, or Invitrogen catalog number (or SKU). For now, click a color that has more than a single catalog number. Two or more rows will display in the table. Click any of the Product URLs.
The Invitrogen product sheet shows several different color conjugates and unit sizes. FITC, for example, comes in two sizes, each with its own catalog number. Decide which one you want.
To put your picks into the shopping cart, double-click the catalog number on the tree or the relevant row in the table. You can also drag the catalog number or the row onto the shopping cart. Or you can highlight the catalog number or the row and click the shopping cart.
Repeat the process to build your shopping list. At any point, you may remove any of your picks. Click Remove / review.
Click to highlight the row(s) you want to remove.
Click Remove from cart.
The Shopping cart window will reappear. Click Check-out.
The Invitrogen ordering page will display in your default browser, but without any indication of avaialability or account specific pricing. Click Login. Or, if you have not yet created an account, click Register .
The Login page appear. Type in your User name and password. Click Login.
The Invitrogen ordering page will now show the availability of the items you want and the price you will pay for them. Click Proceed to Checkout. Or Email your shopping list to your purchasing agent. You may also Continue shopping on the Invitrogen site or save you shopping list for later. When you've completed your purchase, close your browser and return to CytoGenie.
