Enter new configurations from scratch

 

instrdets002.gifStart on the opening screen, where you will see the tabs Design ProtocolsManage reagents, and Invitrogen flow catalog.  If you also see a tab for Instrument details, click it.  If you do not see he tab, click View.  A menu will drop down.  Click Instrument details.

 

 

 

image001.gif The Instrument details window will display.  Click New.

 

 

 

  

 

image002.gifAn Instrument configuration form will appear.  You must fill in the grids bordered in red.  The other blanks are optional.  If you do not have the required information at hand, take a screenshot of the form and show it to your lab administrator or facility manager.  They will have the answers or know how to find them.

If you wish to type in a Configuration name, it must be a unique name.  Each instrument may have more than one configuration.

You may also click the drop-down arrow under Instrument software type.  A drop-down menu will appear.  Click the listed software your instrument uses.  CytoGenie Pro and CytoGenie Lab currently support DiVa and CellQuest Pro.  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for possible support of the other software. 

CytoGenie Basic, which is free, does not permit export to any other software or analysis package.

Now, go to Instrument model(s) and click New.  

 

 

 

image003.gifAn Instrument model entry form will appear.  Fill it in with help from your lab administrator or facility manager.

Producer -- optional.

Sorter -- Click to enter or remove check mark.

Model identifier -- must be a unique name.

Max colors -- the model's maximum number of optical detectors (including both laserand optical filters).

Max side scatter -- the maximum number of devices the model uses to detect light emissions from side scatter.

Max forward scatter -- the maximum number of devices the model uses to detect light emissions from forward scatter.

Max lasers -- the model's maximum number of lasers.

Model description -- a description meaningful to you and your colleagues.

To enter your Possible laser configuration(s), click Pick.

 

 

 

 

image004.gifThe Laser configuration(s) pick list will appear.  Hold down the CTRL key and click the lasers your instrument uses.  Click Pick.

 

 

 

 

 

image005.gifYou will return to the Instrument model entry form, where you will see the choices you’ve made.  If they match your flow cytometry instrument, click Done.  You will return to the Instrument model entry form, where you will see the choices you’ve made.  If they match your flow cytometry instrument, click Done.
