Screens, tabs, buttons, icons & fonts

Click Edit.  A menu will drop down.  Click Preferences.

image003.gifSpecify subjects and samples separately.  Click to enter or remove a check mark.  If checked, CytoGenie will display Subjects and Samples on different pages. If unchecked, you may work on Subjects and Samples on a single page, as in the image to the left.

 

 

 

 

1_factory_settings.gifClick Factory settings if you want to go back to the original settings for ALL grids and tables.  This is blessed relief if you do not like the changes you have made.

 

 

 

 

 

1_click_color_settings.gifClick color settings and run your cursor down the unfolding menus.  You can change everything.  You can also click Restore all defaults.

 

 

 

 

 

1_click_font.gifClick Font settings and run your cursor down the unfolding menus.  Be careful.  Changing fonts can become addicting.

default_wizard_bar.gifAppearance lets you change the tabs on the Wizard bar.  Check Equal sizes to make the tabs proportionate.  Check Arrow water marks to include the animated arrows.  Click Wizard icons to include the iconic images.  Click them all to combine the options.  To change the size of the tabs, Increase or decrease the number in Margin size.

 

 

Table top right buttons: 

downward_options_arrow.gifRight-click popup menu.  If checked, CytoGenie displays a Downward options arrow at the right side of various tables and grids.  This activates the Pop-up options menus, as does right-clicking on the tables and grids. 

 

 

 

pushpin_icon.gifSeparate window.  If checked, CytoGenie displays pushpin icons on the right side of various tables and grids.  The icon lets you put grids and tables into their own separate windows.  You can also find the command on the Pop-up options menus.

 

Normal layouts:

buttons_at_bottom.gifFor windows.   If checked, CytoGenie will display large buttons at the bottom of various windows.

 

 

 

 

buttons_at_top.gifFor windows. If unchecked, CytoGenie leaves large buttons at the top at the top of various windows.

 

 

 

 

wizard_bar_at_bottom.gifFor tabs.  If checked, CytoGenie will display the Wizard bar at the bottom of the main windows.

 

 

 

 

wizard_bar_at_top.gifFor tabs.  If unchecked, CytoGenie will leave the Wizard bar at the top of the main windows.

 

 

 

 

view_dropdown.gifAlong the top of the main window, you will see a series of CytoGenie tabs, including Design protocols, Manage reagents and Invitrogen flow catalog.  If you wish to access a CytoGenie tab that is not visible, click View.  Then click the name of the tab you want.  Your user privileges determine which of the CytoGenie tabs you may alter.

 

 

CytoGenie windows that contain alerts and questions always appear at the center of your primary monitor and vary in size according to the amount of information they have. You may resize and relocate other windows as you wish. CytoGenie will remember the sizes and locations you choose for each type of window.
