A Java Starting(or Java Loading) window will appear. If you are using Windows and do not have Java 1.5 or later on your system, click here. MAC OS 10.4 comes with Java. Java will download the system files CytoGenie needs and install them on your computer. This could take up to a minute the first time you launch CytoGenie and whenenever we significantly update the program. At other times, Java will load much more quickly than with earlier versions of CytoGenie.
CytoGenie will ask for your password. If this is your first launch with the password we sent you or want to replace your old one, click Change password.
The Change Password window displays with your email address. Type in your old and new passwords and click Save.
CytoGenie will tell you that we have successfully changed your password. Click to return to the Password window.
Enter your password. Click OK. Or, if you do not remember it, click Forgot password. We will immediately email it to you. When you receive it, change it as above, enter your new password, and click OK.
If a certification screen from Thwaite appears, click Yes. We are duly certified. On your first launch, you will also be asked to accept or decline our contract terms.
This window tracks your progress. If it stalls, please note at what point in the download.
If an error message appears, please note exactly what it says. Some will let you correct the problem by clicking OK or Yes. If the problem persists, Ask the Genie Online and give us as much information as you can about what you see on your screen. Screenshots help even more.
When CytoGenie has finished loading, it will show you where to start.
