QuickStart – How to master the magic

0_options_arrow.gifTo see your options anywhere in CytoGenie, click the closest Downward options arrow.  Alternatively, you can right-click on the relevant table, field, or grid.

 

 

 

 

 

click_options.gifClick to activate buttons and tabs.  Click to highlight cells, rows, and columns in a table.  As you click, the options available to you will continually change.

CytoGenie displays data in both tables and trees.  Click the Tree button or the Tree command on the options menu to create the tree or to find the command to return to Table view.

 

 

   

0_edit_in_place.gifClick to check Edit in place on the options menu to enter or modify information directly in a table.  Click to uncheck Edit in place to use a separate data entry form.

 

 

 

 

 

 

0_shift.gifHold down the SHIFT key as you click to select or highlight contiguous rows in a table.  Or, click and then drag the cursor down the rows.

 

 

 

 

 

0_ctrl.gifHold down the CTRL key as you click to highlight separated rows or any group of columns.

 

 

 

 

 

0_grayed_out_rpt.gifWhen a possible choice on a pick tree or table turns gray, it has become unavailable.  CytoGenie knows it will not work with the choices you have already made. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

problem.gifRed borders around a cell or grid tells you to provide information or make a correction.  Alternatively, the red-bordered Problem? or Warning buttons may appear.  Click them to see the possible problem.

 

 

 

 

green_borders.gifGreen borders indicate a lesser problem, such as your entry of a non-uniform spelling, the need to buy a reagent to carry out your experiment, or a potentially troublesome spectral overlap between two or more reagents.
