Pick an instrument configuration

To help you pick the right reagents, CytoGenie needs to know the configuration of your flow cytometry instrument.  You will most likely need to get this information from your laboratory technician or facility manager.  See How to enter your instrument configurations.

In the meantime, we have provided a list of popular flow cytometers with generic configurations that you may use to to get a feel for how CytoGenie works.

Please do not run any experiment with the reagents you pick with these configurations.  You will likely pick the wrong reagents for your instruments, buy reagents you cannot use, and get misleading experiment results.

CytoGenie lets you pick or change an instrument configuration in two different places.  On the Protocol window, go to Instrument for this protocol and click Add. 

Just above the Reagent pick tree on the Stain sets window, click Add instrument.

Clicking either of these buttons will activate the Instrument pick tree.  If you are using CytoGenie Lab and have already entered your instrument configurations, you will find them in the tree under Lab or Facility.  If not, go to Generic.  

Click & drag the scroll bar to see the entire list.  Click the + signs to open the nodes you want to see.  Click the configurations you want to preview.  As you will see, some instruments have more than one configuration.   Click Pick to select the last configuration you highlighted.  Your instrument configuration will now display on both the Protocol and Stain sets windows.
