Make your picks

scr 2 reagent pick tree no label.gifTo spread out the Reagent pick tree, click the + sign before any item that interests you.  You can make each of your picks at whichever level suits you best: epitope, color and/or handle, or specific reagent lot.

undo__redo.pngTo erase a pick, click the Undo button.  Click the Redo button to move back to where you were.

  look_at_locks.png
As you click on the tree to choose your reagents, CytoGenie wii gray out those that would improperly use the same channel(s) that other reagents already require.

If you choose a reagent at the epitope level, CytoGenie will pick a color for you and the Color lock in the next column will remain open.  This leave the program free to change the color conjugate to make a better fit with your subsequent picks.

If you choose a specific color or lot, CytoGenie will display a closed lock in the Color lock column and will not subsequently change your choice for you.

You may click to change any fully-colored red (closed) or green lock (open).  If you do this, CytoGenie might change the channel as well.  Clicking does not open or close locks that appear in outline form.

  drop_down_color.png

Wherever you see a drop-down arrow in your stain set, you may quickly change a color choice (even if the lock in engaged).

Click the drop-down arrow.

Click and drag the vertical scroll bar if needed to find the color you want to use.

Click it.

To override CytoGenie’s choices:

Click any of the drop-down arrows in the Color column.

Click the color you wish to use.

The other colors and channels will adjust to work with your new pick.

consider_cocktail.pngExcept where you’ve left a Color lock engaged, CytoGenie will automatically readjust your colors and channels to make the most effective stain sets.  Consider the cocktail in this graphic.

add_erythroid_cells.pngNow add a new reagent — we used Erythroid Cells — and watch CytoGenie make several adjustments.

Note the changes:

The Erythroid Cells takes the R-PE and moves into channel 5.

IgD changes color from R-PE to R-PE Cy®7 and changes channel from 5 to 6.

Annexin-V changes channel from 2 to 1.

CD4 changes channel from 3 to 2.

CD8 changes channel from 1 to 3.
