Some notes about launching Cytogenie
CytoGenie identifies your account by your email address. You can launch CytoGenie by clicking the CytoGenie icon on your desktop (CytoGenie puts it there the first time you launch).
If this is the first time you are launching CytoGenie, or if this is the first time you are launching CytoGenie on a particular computer, you may find that it takes several minutes to download your personal knowledge base and all the other knowledge bases that join with it to put reagent information, instrument configurations and so much more at your finger tips. Subsequent launches will be roughly 5 times faster, except when we provide large new updates. You might use any delays to browse our graphic user guide or QuickStart 4.0. They will both enhance your productivity.
If this is your first launch on a computer running Windows or Vista, you may have to install Java 1.5. Click here to begin the install procedure. It takes only a little time and requires no specialized knowledge. The Sun MicroSystems install proceedure will guide you from beginning to end.
Some users have found a compatibility problem when they installed Java 1.5 on computers running BD FACSDiva™. To avoid this or other possible conflicts, we advise running CytoGenie on a different computer than the one running BD FACSDiva™.
