Screens, tabs, buttons & icons

Click Edit.  A menu will drop down.  Click Preferences.

Subjects & Samples

Specify subjects and samples separately.  Click to enter or remove a check mark.  If unchecked, you may work on Subjects and Samples on a single page, as in the image below.

Stain sets

Use reagent pick tree immediately. If checked, CytoGenie will take you directly to the tree when you click on the Stain set tab.

Use reagent pick tree immediately. If unchecked, when you click the Stain set tab, CytoGenie will take you to the screen below, as in previous versions.

On the initial Preferences windows, click Buttons.

A second Preferences window will appear.

Appearance

These options let you change the tabs on the Task bar.

 Click Equal sizes to make the buttons proportionate.

Click Arrow water marks to create buttons with animated arrows, as in earlier versions.

Click Wizard icons to put iconic images on the buttons.

Or, combine the options. If you check all three boxes, the arrows will override the Wizard icons as you move through each step.

Increase or decrease the number in Margin size to change the size of the buttons.


Table top right buttons

Right-click popup menu. If checked, CytoGenie will display the Downward options arrow at the right side of various fields and grids. Click it to see the pop-up option menus.

Right-click popup menu. If unchecked, you will need to right-click to activate the pop-up menus like the one below, as in earlier versions.

Separate window. If checked, CytoGenie will display pushpin icons that you may click to put a table in a new window of its own.

Separate window. If unchecked, you can create tear-away windows as in previous versions. Right-click anywhere on the table. A pop-up menu will appear. Click Put in separate window.

Normal layouts

CytoGenie windows that contain alerts and questions always appear at the center of your primary monitor and vary in size according to the amount of information they have. You may resize and relocate other windows as you wish. CytoGenie will remember the sizes and locations you choose for each type of window.

Any changes in the settings below may take effect only after you restart CytoGenie.

For windows. If checked, CytoGenie will display the large buttons at the bottom of various windows.

For windows. If unchecked, the large buttons will appear at the top.

For tabs. If checked, CytoGenie will display the Task bar at the bottom of the main windows.

For tabs. If unchecked, the Task bar appears at the top of the main windows.

Along the top of the main window, you will see a series of CytoGenie tabs, including Protocols, Reagents and possibly others.

If you wish to access a CytoGenie tab that is not visible, click View.  Then click the name of the tab you want.  Your user privileges determine which of the CytoGenie tabs you may alter.
